I picked up four L204 pleco from BA in Oakville. These are small about 1.5" and supposed to be WC.
I doubt if they are WC because they are too small. I've placed them in a 15g tank by themselves. Anybody have any experience with these guys?
According to Planet Catfish they grow to about 5" and have been bred in captivity.

I seen that Gino was selling some really nice ones pushing 5'' from what I can remember. He would probably be the best person to ask about them.

Hey Joe,

The L204 flash plecos are one of the most stunning looking plecos when they are young. They have very dark brown/black bodies with vibrant gold stripes. As they grow they get a bit duller and the stripes may break up. Adults grow to over 5".

These plecos have been bred in capativity. It's possible the ones you bought are WC because they are not a banned species.

How much was BA selling them for?

I am selling 4 adults on PN. I have not had a chance to post them here. Mine have not bred for me. I would like to keep all my fish but I'm getting overwhelmed and need to cut back. That's why the L204 and several other types are for sale.

Gino.

Gino's info is spot on, they for sure get over 4" I have had a group in the past that were around 6"+ The nice white lines end up splitting as they get that size. Not nearly as pretty when full grown.

Thanks Gino
I paid $15 each for them. They were asking $19.99 but I was able to talk him down to $15 for four of them.

I wouldn't call that a good price... more like PHENOMINALY GOOD. I haven't seen that that low ever. Congrats on the pick up.

They have to be wild caught as to the best of my knowledge the only person to breed them is in Denmark. I have 6 that are 5"+ and go through the pretence of spawning but no luck yet.
