Let me introduce myself. I have been keeping fish for about 12 years, if you count my gold fish bowl when I was little; then that's 22ish years. Oh sigh. I still miss my fishy, "Mr. T".
Anyways, I have been mostly keeping saltwater fish for the past 7-8 years and am getting back into fresh water. I will be setting up a small system of 4-6 tanks, mostly driven by sponge filtration and ranging in size from 15-35gal. In this system I would like to keep a couple types of plecos and in the long run, try my hand at breeding them. Albino Ancistrus are going to be the first fish of choice, however I am not sure of what else I would like to keep/breed. There is such a selection of plecos out there, few available at any time, and just not enough room in what I have planned to accommodate an easy decision.
If anyone has any suggestions, please feel free to throw them my way.
Thanks, Wheresmypleco.

Hi and welcome to CP..
With Plecos there is such a wide variety as you know in what to keep. Best is to start looking at different plecos and see what turns your fansy, then check on tank requirements for them ie size etc. and then Keep open eye out to source said species.
On a side note I see you are from Whitby so I wil insert shameless plug here for the Durham Region Aquarium Society www.dras.ca . Great group with lots of possible networking options to source the fish or plants you may be looking for. Members also get discounts at some LFS in the TO and Durham areas too.

howdy fellow whitbian. I'll second Zoban's DRAS reccomendation, I went to my first meet this month and there's some cool stuff to be found there.
King Tigers are a really nice looking species. Mine seems to be pretty shy but that wouldn't stop me from getting another one for a different tank because when it does come out it's just gorgeous.

Well, I brought home my first Albino Ancistrus... 7-9 more to come.
Also considering some White Seams and some Clown plecos. Too bad the White Seams at Al's are so emaciated. Hopefully they will fatten up a little and I can get a couple soon.

Forget the shape of the White Seams and the Royals did ya see the shape of the Gibby's. The chap I talk to most when I am in there explained there was an issue with the bag and such. I understand was a good number of the gibby's lost :(
Is hard at times to see what happens behind the scenes out of the staff or even the local stores hands.
I still wanna know the L# for the plec's tagged as Columbian Zebra Plecos!!
On the ABN side should check out a dras meeting I bought three two monthes ago for a 10er I think it was. Average store price is 10 each. That's a years membership paid for with one bag of 3 fish.
