Well I hit the jackpot the other day. Was driving up a cottage road and found a HUGE, and I mean huge piece of driftwood. It prob weighs about 200lbs (not exagerating!). It is an entire tree stump that was in the lake for a bunch of years. I have no idea how it got to the ditch on the non-lake side of the road, but I don't really care. Good thing I drive a pickup as there is no way this would ever fit in a car or suv.
It needs to be cut into about 4 pieces, basically quartered. Each quarter will be approx 3' long by 2'-1.5' deep and about 2' high. I think it will sink right off the bat, whooo, will see. I need a bigger chainsaw to cut it though, my 20" bar wont make it through :( Hopefully will get it cut up this wknd.
So, who wants one of these pieces?
Will snap some pics tomorrow.

I don't know, if it's been sitting by the high way for years, the toxic build up from the cars and trucks can be an issue. You might want to clean it with a water pressure first.

Its recently out of the lake, I am not too concerned about any toxins on it.

One thing I did not ask how the heck did you lift it into the truck? LOL

Well I finally got around to cutting this thing. Crap its huge. Took me a while to get thru it! Then it didn't fit in the tank :( Bar on the saw is 18" for size reference. Also there's a bottle of bud lime (SOOO GOOD if you haven't tried one).
It almost fits, stupid euro bracing on the aquarium makes it too big. Not too sure what I am going to do now with it, slice it more, then screw it together once in might be an option.

Geez Rich,
That piece is huge. Nice character too. Can't wait to see it in your tank.

Nice driftwood there Rich, it's going to look awesome once you can fit it in your tank.
Where's Rick Moranis and his shrinking machine when you need him?

Thanks guys, I still havent had a chance to wrestle it into the tank again. Its too big :( Stupid euro bracing, but I do have another idea for it and I think it will look great in there still, just different.
I put the other half in one of my gardens :)
