Hey Gino,
I'm going to say that they look very simular to the Hypancistrus (L201)
I just figured I'd start it off.
Don't you all start ganging up on me if I'm wrong.

No definitely not L047. I think you meant L048 but not correct. Most of the forum regulars have guessed. Soon I will provide some clues.

OK NOW.......
I almost took the day off work to find different variations.
Others mentioned 2 types and I only said the L201.
So this time around......I say L201 and L262.
I think that the smaller spot markings on the L262 is what I see added to the
L201.
Call me dumb, but that's my final answer.
If I'm close.....let's see what others think.

Way to go Sherlock Holmes. You figured it out Ralph.
They were accidentally crossbred. I didn't expect the much bigger L201 (Contraden) would breed with the smaller L262 (Salt Queen Arabesque). I was just trying to separate the L201 to another tank when it was getting injured fighting with its own kind. They are both hypancistrus species so it is possible.

Will be interesting to see how they look when they get a bit older. Not fair, hybrids, so many options hehe...
There are some pics somewhere of a 262 cross 260 and they looked awesome. Please do keep us updated on them!

There has been very heated debate regarding crossbred/hybrid fish. I don't want to get into any philosophical arguments about the merits of doing so. I would never deceive anybody if I were to sell them. I just know they look nice.

I give you a lot of credit for not to deceive someone when you sell them. ;)
This was an interesting thread.
