Ok I think it is a L-260 but it does not look like any of the others I have. The patern, eyes, head and mouth are a bit different. Only him and his brother look the same. They are WC and about 5'' and no less than 4''3/4.

What do yu all think?

L260 They are a terrible little fish, you should drop them off and my house immediately. :D

Can you post a pic of yours please? I would like to see it. I have looked at so many pix on the net and none look like these. These 2 kill every other hypan that goes in the tank. They dont bother any othe rfish just hypans.

Does yours have such a reticulated patern? or does the shape and body look alike?

LOL They are killer the have cost me about $300 in dead females in the last month or so.

Can this just be that they are not ment to be daddy's? LOL they are way too aggressive.

Now I have not done this before but I looked through the whole list of hypans on PC mine look like they are 100% L-411. The patern colour head shape and eyes are 100% the same.

What do you think?

Here is the best pic I found to compare the 2 fish. The other one I have ( who I cant get a pic of ) looks just like this with the faded colour positioned the same. The one in the pix is a bit lighter as you can see but also shows this colour patern as well.

I have one with similar patterning amoung my 260's. If I ever manage to see him during the next water change I'll try and get a photo. Usually I can't get him out of his hidey hole.

I am pretty sure the 2 I have are L-411. I need to take a few pix of both with no flash so the colour and patern does not get washed out . Even the size of them fits the desription of the L-411. The one thing that really has me leaning towards L-411 is their heads and eyes. They are much different from alll the L-260 pix I have been looking at. I have looked at so many pix I am dieing to see another for sure L-260 that look like these 2 guy's.

I am going to hunt for some L-411 maybe they will spawn with them and I will have my answer LOL JK :D

I posted some pix on PC I will see what they say.

It is confirmed I have 2 L-411 :)

i bought my 411s back in 2004 they were advertised as 260s
i managed to breed mine 4 months later
i have seen a few about a few months ago mixed in with 260s
they are easy to spot because they are a greyish colour and seem to have a few wide bands over the body, where as the 260s appear to be more black and white
