Are one of the best veggies nutrition wise out there. All of my panaque's go bonkers for them and they make my L144's do headstands! :D

Thanks for that, do they sink on their own or do you have to weigh them down?

Semi blanched? If that makes sense. I nuke them in tank water for about 55 seconds. Otherwise it gets very mushy and ends up making the tank a complete mess.

Thanks! I stick them on to bamboo skewers from the dollar store and they sink like stones.

I don't know why I haven't given it to them sooner! Its one of the most nutritious veggies there is. I'm going to start adding it to my pleco cookies and see how its recieved.

Nice pick :)
I use these and squash all the time for my Panaques. I also feed all of mine carrots as well. They freak out over carrots and my clown loaches sound like tap dancers when the see this stuff LOL

I really don't have one. I just walk through the store picking up whatevers fresh, blending it and baking it on a very low setting. Sometimes I add some organic baby food and knox and freeze it into fish jello. If you do a google search on home made fish food you'll come up with tons of recipe's or click on the links below. I basically just did the same and used the ingredients I liked. I make them all different geared towards inverts, plecs, goldfish, bettas etc. A few people I know add dog food and dog cookies which I have never tried to date. I'd worry about it fouling the water too much.
I'm lousy at recipe's and just kinda throw things together.
Melody over at CAC has done amazing research on fish nutrition and this is a link to some recipe's

She also makes & sells her own foods which she calls 'Bottom Bites' which my fish love anytime I've bought some. My fish all go nuts for them.

I havent made pleco food in a while, but its really easy... Like Kate said, just go to the store or your fridge and pick a bunch of vegies or meat stuff (seafood) depending on the kind of fishes, blend it up and cook it. I used to cook a bunch on rocks, every pleco went nuts for it.

Thanks for the idea. I might spend some time in the kitchen Sat. morning. What can you use to keep it all together
Pleco cookies?! And bamboo skewers, what about a fork? Kate, you have come leaps and bounds ahead of me.
