I have more baby L262 plecos. These are 2 weeks old and I just stripped them from the cave.

Beautiful little guys! If you ever plan on putting some up for sale, please keep me in mind. I've been looking for some new cats lately and those are lovely! Congrats on the spawn and thanks for sharing a pic!

Hi Kate,
Of course I'll keep you in mind. It looks like they are slow growers if the first batch is any indication.
Now i'm hoping for my leopard frogs, snowball, vittata, king tigers, flash or L174 panthers to breed.

Congratulations Gino. You should post your success to Planet Catfish. They still don't have any breeding successes listed.

Thanks very much. I have been told these plecos have been bred by others and Planet Catfish has not updated for some time.

Great pix :)

What do you feed the fry? Do you keep them in those traps just to make it easier on your self to feed them?

Hi

L262 plecos are primarily meet eaters. I feed them frozen baby brine shrimp and a variety of good quality very finely crushed pellet or flake food.

Yes it is both for ease of feeding and for cleaniliness that i keep them in containers for a period of time.

I take them away from their father after 2 weeks. This way I can get as many as possible before they take off in the tank. They may still have a bit of an egg sac. They stay in the container for up to 2 months. It depends on ther growth rate but when their stomachs are nice and plump then I put them in a ten gallon tank.

Do you keep an air stone in with them? Or is the flow from the tank enough?

I have a small airstone in the container.

Hey, bringing this thread back :) Wondering how big your breeding adults are? How are the babies doing now that they are like 8 mths old?

My L262 are full grown at about 4 inches. They are doing fine but no signs of breeding at this time.
As soon as I get new rechargeable batteries for the digital camera I'll take pics of the adults and young ones. I really like how very nice the L262 x L201 plecos are developing.
