At that price he can keep em. I don't mind paying for things but that's not paying that's extortion.

Yeah I figure you could drive down to the US to buy them & pay for gas & hotel & it would still be cheaper than that.

Just found out Superpet in Mississauga on Dundas is supposed to be getting some L046 next week. Same price though.

The trouble is the stores are paying the same price for zebra plecos as anyone can buy them for from hobbyist breeders state side. By the time they pay shipping US funds etc. the price becomes un affordable.

The zebras in Brantford has been leaving rapidly but not to custumers. They were too small for store conditions.
The supplier of the zebras to Super Pet has been getting them next week for the last 6 months.

That depends on where you are. $200 for a 1 1/4 - 1 1/2 is a fair international price.
2" and above are consider young adult - adult. They can cost around $300 - $500 each depending on sex, proven breeder and wild caught or not.

From a retail store, $399 each is about the right prices as well. Although a store is taking a huge risk by buying such a small zebra. It's a lesson they will have to learn the hard way. Unless they have a lot of clients who sees money as no object.

You just have to determine what's your price for these fish.

You can try to buy some zebras from the States, but judging from the size of the fry I've seen, they look like they are only 3 months old. It may have cost you $100 - $150 each, but you risk losing the entire batch if you don't know how to handle them propertly. It's no different from rearing any other fish. You stood a better chance of breeding them if you buy them as young adults.

Are wild caught L46's more expensive than f1's and f2's? Males are more expensive than females right?

Females are more. Good lick finding any that are at an age where they can be sexed. If they are at a sexable size then expect to pay $400+ for each one.

What size can they be sexed at? What size are they sexually mature?

3" or so. 4 years to reach that size generally.

Didn't want them anymore, they hide all the time, they take forever and a year to grow, and I am more into bigger plecos.
