Came home from work this evening to find a male fanning a mass of amber eggs in his cave. I'm very excited as this is my first pleco spawn. :D

Congrats! What a pleasant surprise.

Looks like a decent sized clutch of eggs! Best of luck with the little guys :D

Thanks, the clutch is a decent size for their first spawn, I didn't think they would lay that many.

Noticed some wigglers tonight. Should I move the cave with dad into a fry saver?

Well the cave didn't fit in my fry saver, so I moved just the fry. Any advise?
Here are some pics.

Hi,
In addition to the air stone, make sure you keep the container clean. The fry can be easily lost if any fungus develops.

Thanks guys, I put an air stone in there and I'll make sure to keep it clean.

Another quick question...When do I start to feed them? after the yolk sac is absorbed, or can I before that?

It depends on if you have any quick developers. If some absorb the egg sac quicker than others then you should add some food. Otherwise when it looks like the egg sacs are almost completely absorbed, then start adding food. If you add it while they are still absorbing, it will just become waste and fowl the water. (Roughly you should be looking at 4-7 days on average before you need to start worrying about feeding). But based on your pictures from yesterday, you've got at least 3 days or so left before I'd say you need to start worrying.
Good luck! More pictures :D

Thanks for that, I'll be watching closely. I'll be taking more pics in a couple days.

Very nice, already developing some nice colour. Wow, that really is a lot for a first spawn!

I think the female was ready for some time as she was very gravid, had to wait for one of the males to mature and grow some bristles  I'm surprised at how fast the little ones develop.

Congrats. Can we see some pics of the parents? I have some ancistrus plecos that I'm trying to identify (I will post pictures) and I would like to see what your L100s look like.

John, I checked PC and other sites. You're probably right they could be L100. Some people have said they are L71, L182, L213, L344 and L370. I can't even find pics for some of those L numbers!
I got mine at an auction. Where did you get yours from?

I got mine from Below Water. I'm no expert by any means, but your pleco's look like mine for sure.

Beautiful pictures John.
I now believe my plecos are actually L370 and yours are L100. The L370 have no spots on the tail.

That's a great pic.. You should submit it to Jools at planetcatfish. They really don't have many pics of any L100's.
Wish I was closer to ya, would love to get some of those little guys.

Hey that's not a bad thing! Especially considering nobody else has got any L100's. Few more months and you can start selling them to Spencer.

I need more tanks :) I'm sure Spencer would take them. :D
