Just went to water depot and got a good water test done, I was never really able to test my hardness as it was off all the charts on my test kits. Turns out it is 60 ppm! Does anyone else have water anywhere nearly this hard?
I am going to put in a water softner as the water is destroying all my plumbing in my house, and looks as tho possible a very big RO unit for the fish.
What is everyone else doing with their water?
Mine out of the well is at 200 ppm. Liquid rock. I have an in line water softner the removes the Calcium and Magnesium and replaces it with Sodium. Makes the water softer but a little too much Sodium for my liking. I have a 100g per day RO unit for my fish room.

wow, thats crazy. How fast do you go through RO membranes? I assume you have the RO after the softner?

I had mine tested and the range was 300 which I thought at the time couldn't be right. I'm just starting with the r/o but am still working on getting some sort of barrel to store the water in currently I am using a rubbermaid which is starting to really bow.

I have a digital meter and I have found that my water hardness is sitting around upwards to the 200-250 range and nothing I can do will lower that

One membrane about every two years. The inline softner does the whole house including the RO.

I would have to go with the GE Merlin that bwiplumbing is using. From what I was told...It's worth every penny.
Hope the link works.....

I like the look of it but what about a smaller one that produces around 50gpd-90gpd?

I think I am goig to try and get the one Matt wants to buy as well. looks to be a great RO system and I have heard it is a great one as well.
If I want to go with another what one can you suggest that is good and does the same job as the one Matt is talking about?
