Hey Guys,

I have a L191 Dull Eyed Royal that I am considering selling, which is actually breaking my heart. He's one of my favorite fish but was an emotional/impulse buy. It is 6-7 inches I paid $75 for him and am willing to accept significantly less for him if I knew he was going to a good home.

They are wood eaters and require a very strict vegetarian diet, protein screws up thier digestive system and causes quite a lot of problems for them. They enjoy a strong current and need to be housed in a large tank with plenty of hiding spots. He is a very gentle fish and doesn't even seem to mind bristle nose fry that like to perch themselves on his head from time to time. :)

This is a lousy photo of him after biting through 4 bags and sitting in bags/buckets for about 12 hours at least at a local auction. He has grown since this pic a few months ago but likes to hide in the caves in my tank so without ripping apart my tank I can't get a better photo. He has grown and colored out beautifully since this picture.

I am hesitant to sell him to someone I don't know because he is one of my favorite fish & I don't want him to end up shoved into a 20 gallon with carnivores.

Everything and then some are breeding and I'm running out of room. What was a veggie eating tank is slowly become a carnivore tank and I don't want him to end up with digestive problems because of my poor planning.

Thanks, I'm going to hold off on selling him for the time being. I am leaving the country tomorrow and have been running around so much its 5 am and I still haven't gone to bed. When my husband came in from work I told him my plans on rehoming him and lets just say he was very opposed to the idea.

Sorry Jackson! I'm sure he would have been very happy with your group, if things change in the near future I'll be sure and let you know.

Well first off Kat with regard to your tank issues, do what I do... keep one tank as a general show/community tank. That allows me to have fun with plants and aquascaping as well a place to house those fish I want to enjoy rather than specifically bree.
