I pm'd him about the L046, and he says he is getting them from Brazil, not wild caught, but tank raised, but they are not related (genetically) apparently. Sounds like he is getting them the day of sale.
I thought ALL L046 (tank raised or not) were banned from exportation from Brazil? Also, I read from a guy in Brazil on PF that it's illegal to own zebs in Brazil anyways.

Tank raised in Brazil does sound quite fishy considering I have also heard that it is illegal to own any native species in Brazil, including all pleco species that are exported. I would definately be careful if your considering purchasing any zebras.

Good point CanadaPleco, the lists are almost identical, except for the big price differences, as you said. I wouldn't consider purchasing anything off of this guy ameekplec, all of it just doesn't sound right...

This is the pm I got from him explaining things:

"ok i dunno whats inconsistent about it??? just call and i can explain everything. they are legit zebra plecos arriving from a breeder. i dont want to disclose my supplier so i do not want to say where there coming from except that its not from south america. the WC and the zebras are arriving seperate. zebras from COUNTRY A and the WC plecos from brazil on the 29th of may. im picking them up in canada on june 8th, giving my supplier more than a week to acclimate the fish.

i possibly will have pics when they arrive from the supplier in canada after the 29th. im not worriedabout teh deposit, i just want to snsure that ppl are serious about getting these fish as the cost of them are expensive.

call me tmrw and if i cant clear things up then we can leave it at that. im new to the pleco importing, been inporting SW fish and WC african cichlids for years and now moving into the plecos. but im not dealing direct but rather a wholesaler in canada as my supplier.

the zebras are not coming from Brazil. they are from a breeder not located in north or south america. they are 100% legal fish.

the fish are coming from worldfish in quebec, im selling them on there behalf in ontario.

these fish are arriving june 1st and im picking them up for the ontraio ppl from them on june 8th. i will meet ppl in toronto at a central location so ppl can get what they wanted.

the post rearding the price was an error and had the wrong prices on it. the more expensive prices are unfortunately the correct price.
