Recently I was able to have sent to me 10 Corydoras weitzmani. This is a new and beautiful cory just entering the hobby. At two recent conventions one dealer had them for $30.00 each U.S. I was fortunate to have met a hobbyist from Western Canada that is breeding them and was able to acquire 10 half grown ones at a more reasonable price. Hopefully by spring they will be old enough to breed. Check out their picture on Planet Catfish.

My Corydoras weitzmani spawned last week and hatched out about 20 fry. They have spawned again and have laid at least a couple of dozen eggs. I thought that they were too young to spawn but obivously they are not.

Congratz on the spawns
Good luck with the fry. I'm curious as to what kind of set up you used to get the cories to spawn.

Most corys are spawned in bare tanks of 10 gallon size. Many spawn on the glass and just as many spawn in mops. Some will spawn in the mop and on the glass. The weitzmani chose to spawn on the under side of anubias leaves on a plant growing on a piece of tile. Cool water changes trigger spawnings as does weather changes. Some require soft water but most don't as long as the water is not real hard.
