Hello all. I currently have a chocolate pleco (a.k.a rhino pleco/ alligator pleco) that is about 8.5 inches and getting too big for my tank. Unfortunately buying a new tank that is big enough to house him is not an option, and so I was considering selling him. I was just curious about how much would be a fair price for an 8.5 inch chocolate pleco, and what would be your recommended method of shipping him to the US?

My lfs that I have talked to said that they will "adopt" the pleco but give me back nothing in return :(. As a last resort I would go with that option. I would prefer to send the big guy to another pleco enthusiast who I know will take excellent care of him. So I was just looking for some advice on what a fair price would be and how I would go about shipping him to the US since I have never done this before.

I appreciate any feed back you might have.

Do you know exactly what kind of pleco is it?
I can't seem to picture what a chocolate pleco looks like, is it the common one?
Maybe if you can post a picture, then we can more id it for you.
You can post it on several of the Toronto fish forum for free as a last resort. I really rather eat my fish than give it to a store. I really doubt that they (the store) will take good care of them anyway since it's free.
