Aghhh... I hadn't had ich in any of my tanks in many many years until very recently. All of my 8 L239's had an out break about 2 weeks after being in their new home. I treated properly and they never seemed to get any better, I have now lost 5 of the 8 and the other 3 don't look to be getting any better. I am just hoping now I don't loose all 8 of these beauties :(

Oh boy, I don't think you have the common ick then. It's probably the super ick that last much longer than the standard one and it's more lethal. Conventional salt and high temps is not very effective. One reason being that the ick last as long as the fish can take. And it's down to who can last longer. From my past experience with the super ick. I battle with it for 26 days before I see a sign of winning.
The only solution that I know of that kills the super ick is "Quick Cure". They don't sell them anymore. But some older fish store may still carry them. Try blacking out the tank and do surface gravel vac to pull out some of the fallen cysts.
Oh man, just thinking about it gives me the goose bumps.

Its for sure no ich i have ever seen before. I cant even remember the last time I had ich in any tank :( Thank god I put them in a separate tank. I do have more meds that should be here today I hope, I just hope the last 3 can beat this thing, but I kinda feel like they wont :(
Rich: My condolences on your loss. I lost five plecos to "super" ich last year so I know what you're going through. It is a really nasty bug. I've got some extra Quick Cure that I can send you. PM me your address and I'll courier it to you.

Thanks Ken, i'm going to give this RidIch a try first. I got a call from post office saying it was in, but I couldn't make it on time today, damn. I've read that its about the best, so we will see. I've had carbon in the past couple days to remove any remaining of the old ich meds, and about 75% water changes too. Soo tomorrow I dose again.
I did see that mops still carries QuickCure. I think I am going to order some of it also.

Kordon's RidIch is supposed to be pretty good stuff when used with salt and heat. Good luck with it. The offer still stands for the Quick Cure if you need it.

Well looks like its now cleared up, sadly only 2 of the L239's made it through the ich :( Next time I will be well prepared however with almost a litre of QuickCure :)
Glad to hear that you're over it but sorry for your loss.

They must have all come from the same supplier. I do have 2 survivors luckily. So will be looking for more in the future.
Sucks when you loose an entire batch of fish, and costly!
