Fellow Victoria aquariests beware. I did a water change my 55 gallon wide tank the other day & noticed a few of my fish had fungas not long after. I thought it was strange as I never had any fish sick in that tank & have not added any fish for months. I just did a water change on my other 55 gallon tank yesterday & today 2 of my loaches are sick with fungas as well, & not just a little bit, they are covered, & in less than 24 hours after changing the water.

Before anyone says anything, yes I do use water conditioner ect. when I change my water, & the fish have not been stressed in any way. I have added medicine to the water, it got rid of the fungas in my 55 gallon wide tank I changed the water in a few days ago, so hoping I don't loose any of my fish in the tank I just changed the water in.

Thanks for the heads up, I have been battling fungus/ich in my tank for a while. Lost some guppies, L201s and neons. Hope everything works out for you.

I just checked all the water levels & they are all fine including chlorine, but doesn't mean there isn't some kind of paracite in the water. There was a warning around this time last year about paracites in the water & advised to boil water. In my 55 gallon wide tank one of the fish that was sick was my L201 as well, but is ok now, I caught it right at the beginning.

Here is a picture of one my poor loaches

Weather changes often cause the water quality to change for the worst. Spring and fall are especially bad but it can happen anytime after heavy rains. Running the water though a UV unit will help or boil and cool the water that you add if you have a small amount to change.

Morning is here & my poor loaches are still covered, I turned the heat up in the tank too & added more medicine this morning & I noticed that my 2 Platy's in that tank now have started to get it on their fins so I sure hope it goes away. The last time I had a problem with fungus I added the medicine & was gone by morning, but this time it is stubborn.

We have had almost non stop rain here for the last month, so I'm sure that doesn't help the water quality either.
