Ken's catfish sticks

Anybody try these? Now that I've tried catfish scrapers from Xtreme and found my fish to like them, I've been trying to find more pleco specific food. It says that this stuff has hardwood in it.

I didn't try the catfish stick, but I will give it a ty the next time I order. Is it a new product ? it was not available last time I ordered (I think, maybe I missed it...).

Here are some food from Ken's that my pleco like :
- earthworm stick
- brine shrimp stick
- vegetable stick
- meat and spiruline wafer

Looks like it's new. Someone pointed out to me that Ken's had a new website and I took a look and saw. Never saw it before. Think I'm going to try some too. I currently use the earthworm sticks and the 5 stick blends.

hmmm, is the shipping very expensive to get ken's or the extreme food in from the states? looking for something other than hikari after this bag runs out

shipping is not the cheapest, so either order lots or go in with a couple people. For those of us in ontario you can always get Johns food (sugarglider) its the same as kens, just with a different label. Slightly more $ but then there is no shipping or if you do need shipping its from ontario.

I only ordered once from Kens Fish and it was with a group buy.
I ordered for 16 lbs of food and pleco cave, if I had ordered alone, shipping charge would have been $52 (I live in Montreal). Since my order was place with some other members from the group buy, I was able to pay only $36 (I think they have a base fee and add depending on the weight, max 65 lbs if I remember correctly).

They should do a new pellet/stick/wafer with only veggies and wood, it would be a big hit with panaque/royal fans !

You may moan about the shipping charges which have gone up but the over all expense was still higher when our dollar was at 65 cents.

You should go to the OCA Convention in November. Lots of cories and plecos by room sellers and Ken is there with a trailer load of supplies. The rooms are $65.00 a night and just think our money is worth more everyday so far. The top pleco man and cory man will be the star speakers. See Announcements for all the details.

I bought a couple pounds of these while ordering the earthworm sticks and the spirulina sticks about 4 months ago. So far the L243, 333, 199, 270, and 129 REALLY like it, better than the earthworm sticks. They even come out almost immediately when it goes into the tank, even with the lights on. LDA-33 perfer the catfish scrappers and spirulina sticks as do the L-200s, 204s. My peckoltia species and L-183s like it but not as crazy for it as the others.
Could not tell with the LDA-01 LDA-72 or the L-136s, never seem to see them eat, even late at night when the lights ae out. Have not tried the catfish sticks on the L-052s but I am going to guess that they will like it since they seem to eat anything.

One observation was it took all fish about a week to start eating these sticks. I was getting worried that it was just another catfish stick. Or maybe I paid a little bit more attention after that. These sticks also have more of a red color than the earthworm sticks. Next order will be mostly Kens catfish sticks.

my fish also go crazy over kens catfish sticks, checkout the ingredients, salmon I believe is the first thing on the list. very high in protein!

Just bought 8 pounds of kensfish wafer and sticks...the amount you save in the longtem is considerable and most importantly, the fish love it....

How long does it usually take for them to ship?

It usually takes about a week to arrive. He ships here by Priority Post International. I think Canadian Custons sits on it for a few days.

Thats good cause my guys doesnt seem like they like the food i give them, i tried shrimp pellets, nutrafin pleco logs, hikari algae wafers, Nutrafin Sinking Pellets with Shrimp and Krill, and some fresh vege like zuchini, yam. pretty much whatever my lfs carries.

i ordered 1-2lbs of everything what you guys recommended :embarrassed: so hopefully they will atleast like something.

Maybe i am just not seeing them eat, i usually feed them half an hour after turning off the lights. But by morning most of the food is still at the bottom.

I have some L134, L201 , and 2x L205

I've experienced pretty fast ship times from Ken recently (2-3 days), but you are also on the west coast so Charlies guess on a week is more likely. Canada's postal system SUCKS!

I just ordered some Ken's food today. Very helpful dude. If you do the math, even with the shipping, the cost is still very competitive to anything we can get in Ontario.

got my order in, now to feed them. They sink very fast compared to what i buy at lfs. Will see if they like it. I got the cat fish sticks, earth worms and shrimp sticks. Thumbs up for ken.
