On my latest fish trips I have not seen these. I'd think living in TO you'd have a huge selection of stores and be able to find a few of these. I'm really jealous of all the fish stores in the Toronto/Scarborough/Mississauga area. ;)
If I see any this weekend on my trip I'll let ya know!

90% of the stores in Toronto suck... and I know I think I have visted most of them. There are a handful (at my current count 4) that I would reasonably say has stock that I would purchase (and none of them are a chain store)

If you are looking for Plecos check out Finatics as Mike is supposed to have some good leads on Plecos right now.

Thanks for the info but that guy Mike has the worst prices and I know his supplier so he cant get what I want. The last time I was there he had L190 for 60 and L260 as well for the same price. They were no more than 2.5'' and for that price you should be able to get 3 at that size. Plus he only deals with cash and I am not going to pay him those prices if I am giving him cash. I think his store is CRAP. It's like a mini PJ's.

The only one that I found was at a Big Al's.

I will! I'm gonna try to hit some of the Big Al's (atleast 3 or 4 of them, time permitting) I'll take my aqualog but with me so I don't forget! LOL Last time the lass and I went out pleco huntin' we hit Finatics and she wasn't very impressed. A great selection of cichlids but I only saw the price for the Royal (didn't see the actual fish as it was hiding) and quickly left. I've heard he orders stuff up, but living far away I basically hunt as I go.

I would steer clear of Big Al's or at least the Toronto stores. Most of the pleco tanks have injured/sick plecos. I have seen a pair of them covered in fungus and another tank with about half of the inhabitants with that problem that is been cropping up a lot lately where they get a tumor or something in the head. Habve never seen a pleco in there that I would trust. Mikes prices may be kinda high.... but I at least trust what comes out of his store... and that is something I cannot say about 90% of the LFS in Toronto.

Mike will definately order stuff for customers. He is currently getting rid of the common FW stock, adding some new tanks and specializing his livestock. He will be selling rare plecos, cichlids and discus primarily.

As for the statement about it looking like a mini PJ's... all I have to say is at least the stock is healthy, the tanks are clean and never seen a diseased fish in there which is something I also cannot say for most of the stores in this city... of all of them I can say that for 4... and I have pretty much visited them all in the city.

Those ones with the fungus must have been the ones in the Scarborough location, I saw those last time. Want them bad but they were NFS of course. I've had good luck with the BA's in Mississauga, everything I've bought from there has survived, even after sitting in a bag for up to 5 hours!
I've only heard praise about Mike at Finatics, so I was a bit disappointed when I saw one rare pleco. Hopefully he'll get some of the rare ones in very soon! :D

He is also looking into a bunch of other varieties for me as well. He had some L260's in his tanks the other day that were very nice but had already been bought and paid for :(

Those L-260's were in his store for a lomg time. Like I said 60 for one is way too much. I dont like his store at all. Plus all he knows about plecos is what he has on the list from hi supplier.

What was he asking for the L-183"s?

I have bought pleco's from big al's and have never had one die. I have seen fish in bad shape in the stores but it also depends on the location.

Mike said they were there for over a month and I was there not that long ago. They were very nice but the price is way too high.

He has some ok prices once in a blue moon. Him as a person he is a great guy no doubt about that.

Were they still going for 60?
