This is probably ever serious breeder of pleco's nightmare...

I have a bunch of different plecos in my 90 gallon aquarium...
L134's
L182's
L181's
L190
L18 gold nugget
L114's
and 1 regular bristlenose female whom I've had since she hatched 2 years ago... (i know, that's irrelevant)

Any way, there are about 15 or more of babies that look like the picture I'm posting, and they very from very vivid yellows, to white looking spots... they all have the seams on their dorsal and tail fin, even the bigger ones. Anyone have any idea what made these, or what could have cross bred to create this??

Thanks!!

Only ones that could/would cross breed are the 181, 182 and the regular BN you have in there

If they look like this they are from the ancistrus in the tank.

picture you posted is a common bushynose.

But that baby doesn't look anything like the common bushy nose babies I used to have when i had a breeding pair... the camera doesn't capture the colour well, but those spots and actually very yellow... what common bushy nose has yellow spots?? My baby BNs always had few whitish spots, and no seams on fins???

It looks like a commom Gold Spot Bushynose. The male could still be a 181 or 182 as any Ancistrus could cross. No one knows for sure where the aquarium strain gold spot came from. It could be from any combination. At one time they thought the ones with big bristles were one species and the ones without were another.

I agree with the others. Looks like a bushynose and yes baby bushynose does have white seams. Most likely, the female crossed with the L181; provided that you ID your plecos correctly in the first place.
