Hello Everyone,

I was wondering if anyone have tried "Estes Marine Sand" with their pleco ?
It said "Marine", but it is good to use FW and SW.
I did some research on the net and only found good reviews, mostly from people keeping rays. It was very easy to clean (less than 20min for a 25lbs), did not cloud the water.

I put it in my 50g, I was using dark pool filter sand before, but I needed some change, it was also full of snails... I may change all the tank in the next months ?

The only thing that worry me is the very small size of the grain/sand, do you think it could cause any problem ?
I moved up all the filters intake, the sand should no go in them.

Maybe it's in my head and there is no problem since it's my first time with "real" sand" ?
I know that a lot of members use sand, but it's always hard to see the size of it in pictures.

Here are pictures of the L128 in old and new sand :

shouldnt be any problems, and the 128 looks great on it too! Just make sure you stir up the sand when u do water changes as it will pack down.

I'm using the white Estes Marine sand in my 100 gallon cube right now. It's pure quartz sand and is nice and dense, so it's easy to work with. If I do any planting or plan to stir up the sand, I turn all pumps off. No problems so far.

Here's one of my Sterbai Cories resting on the sand in the tank.

Thanks, now I see that my worries were for nothing :P
I may use something a little bigger in my 75 and 125g, if my L24 or L330 move too much in this sand, my tank will look like a sand storm !

2wheelsx2, your tank look great, I'm looking forward for more pictures.
