I just got back from the 3 days in the USA. Went down to Erie Pa. with Janet to celebrate our 44th anniversary. The main reason was to shop as Pennsylvania has no tax on clothing and some big stores like the Bon Ton has 50% off on almost everything. Of coarse I got to check out all the fish stores most of them are t the usual chains or dinky pet stores in malls. I did get to visit the store that is probably the biggest of the few independent stores in Erie. It is called Buzzing B's and has at least 100 tanks. Unfortunately they had only a few common plecos and corys. Nothing different in tetras or other small fish. On the way home we stopped at The Fish Place. They had only a couple of lone plecos and no fish of any interest. It could be the ho hum time of year. We then went cross country on 425 North to Pets Plus in Lockport. Lots of fish but no catfish or plecos to speak of. I did get surprised to find a tank of Gold Columbian Tetras. The only other time that I say them must have been close to 10 years ago in one of that stores display tanks. At that time they only had one. I did depart with 3 pairs and hope to get a spawning soon as they are none existent in this area. I did spawn the normal coloured ones several years ago.
