I found 3 batches of eggs on the tank floor 5 days ago and no male taking cre of any of the eggs.
I put them in a fry saver and added an air stone. This morning there is wigglers.

My question is 2 fold. How long before feeding these guys and what kind of food to use?
How long should they stay in the fry saver?

They will start eating when the eggs sac is about gone (4+ days or so) New fry can eat the same s the adults......you may want to boil the veggies for 5 min or so to soften them.

When to release will depend on other tank mates.....if only the parents you can keep them in the fry saver till you see them eating, then release them, just make sure there is plenty of food in the tank at all times so the fry can eat often.

Congrats on your LUCKY FIND!

Thanks for the response. As an after thought I should have only taken 2 batches and seen if maybe the male would have taken care of them. Next time we will see.

Often if you can get the eggs back in the cave the male will go back to looking after them.

The odd thing was there was 3 seperate batches of eggs, one at the back off the tank and 2 in the front of the tank. All 3 were about a foot from the nearest cave. Each batch had about 25 to 30 eggs.
I had 4 females and 1 male out of 5 that I had grown out. I lost the male awhile back and finaly found a replacement for him about 2 weeks ago now.
I have never seen him go in a cave yet. He hangs out under an overhang of rock in the middle of the tank. I will try a few more caves and se if he finds something to his liking.
Any thoughts on this.

If you only have the BN in the tank you could try pushing the eggs by his rock and see if he looks after them. It may take a few tries before he gets it right, but they hatched, so he did part of his job. ;)
