Melafix

Last night, I dosed a 20 gal tank with Melafix (10 ml for 20 gal.). A tiger barb was showing a red inflamation on its side so I thought I'd nip it in the bud. The quarantine tank was already in use or I'd have used it. A couple of minutes after adding the Melafix, two of my Beckford's pencilfish were dead and the other two weren't much better. I took them out and they may survive in another tank. No problems with any other fish. Has anyone had this or simoilar happen to them? Will cutting the medication level in half help? Any thoughts?

i use melafix for my mbuna's and they are all fine with it.

Well, my barb died today. The ulcer kept getting larger and the Melafix didn't seem to help. I'll miss the little bugger.
