real 240 are actually pretty hard to find. Looks to me as it does not have enough spotting to be 240. If you see the 2 together its quite easy to tell. Only person I know now that has both is Jkhuu maybe he can post up a photo for comparison.

thats for sure not L240 in the video.
Look at the difference here

and

Another thing to look at is the size of the dorsal fin on L240, they are HUGE.

That pic shows it better :) Looks 240, I think its a male based on how broad the head is. My females had really pointy slender snouts.
Here's some crappy shots of some boys

I had many of them. Lost them in a tank crash after having them for around 2 years and one spawn (but they ate the eggs). I fed mainly food from kensfish (also where john/suggarglidder gets his food from), I fed mostly earthworm sticks and spriluna meat waffers. Be careful not to over feed them as they can get bloated quite easily. I also fed canned peas which they went nuts for.

my L240 eat chopped cooked pacific shrimp, Pam's crumble (enhanced with garlic), anything that sinks from NLS, and john's spirulina wafers. i believe your fish is L240 because it appears to be developing the black border edging of dorsal and tail fins similar to mine. L241 maintains some spotting in the tail as it matures. (disclaimer: this is what i know to be true...until i learn more.)

Hey Shawn,
Couple of things to check for. If the spots on your fish are consistent is size...then I would say L241. The spots on the L240 are not all the same size. Some big, some small. The other thing to look for is the overall shape of the fins..especially the dorsal. Once it extends out the fins, the L240 looks amazing and tall. The last possible difference is the black on the fish. L240 should be ink black...L241 is a bit off-black. These are just my observations.
Anyways, nice female.
Hello everyone, ive been absent from this forum for a couple years now.. and im back. I have what i believe to be l240's 4 of them. I had 5 to start with couple years ago and one died one me. Im pretty sure they are mature now 7-9" as it as been 2 years since i wanted to breed them. How do i tell which ones are males and females?
