Rather unexpectedly, my skunk loaches have spawned in the big tank. I haven't found the eggs yet so one of the plecos or another loach may have eaten them. Any hints as to what to do if they look like they're going to try this again? I have absolutely no experience with spawning fish.

Well, over the course of a week or two, one of the loaches got quite fat and seemed to be hiding in the stone work. The other loach stayed quite slim. Then, one day the fat loach was slim so I (rightly or wrongly) am assuming that the loaches have spawned. Having no experience with spawning fish, I may well be mistaken.

Correct me if I am wrong but I do not think they have ever been bred before. There is always a first time though. That would be great. Hopefully you can get some fry from them next time.

www.loaches.com is a good website that I use.

One is starting to bulk up again. I'll pay a bit more attention to what's happening this time. Maybe one of the loach sites will have some info on what to look for & how to prepare for a possible spawning, thanks for the website leads. I'm not trying to breed them but they are cute little buggers though rotten to the core!

That would be nice if you can breed them. I have a love for any kind of loach. Sometimes they get big and a little nasty but loaches are always moving around in the tank, especailly when you have 5 or 6 of them.

Yeh, they are kind of fun to watch. Certainly busier than plecos. They can be surprisingly aggressive.
