Inefficiency

Belo Monte will also be one of the most inefficient dams in the history of Brazil, producing only 10% of its 11,233 MW installed capacity during the dry season, and an average of only 4,462 MW throughout the year, or 39% of its nominal capacity. As such, the government would need to construct other dams upstream to guarantee a year-round flow of water. The additional dams would directly and indirectly affect 25,000 indigenous peoples in the entire Xingú basin, flooding more forest.

I am beginning to start to understand why the stupid Brazilian government started the ban list in the first place. "To starve the fish collectors so they will have to move out of there to find another means to live." It's a very simple systematic way to drive people out of those region. Make some stupid law to make it illegal to harvest fish under the pretent that they are saving the fish. Starve the locals to death because now they can't collect fish for a living and hence forced to move else where to find another way to make a living. Then build the dan and kill off eveything in the region.
I used to support the ban, but seeing things like this just makes me sick. I don't support any type of ban in Brazil anymore.
