I'm planning to test an autofeeder out for a few months before going on vaca.
I've looked at the Eheim 3581 which has a single barrel and the 3582 which has twin barrel. I think the 3582 has a spiral feeding mechanism which I heard is good.
I would need something that I can set to feed in 2-3 day intervals to minimize waste.
Has anyone had any experiences with autofeeders? What would you recommend?
Thank you.

I have the rena automatic feeder and it is great. Not sure of the 2-3 day interval so you may want to look into that but I think it should allow you to do that. The best part is that it doesn't clog up due to humidity because it has a heating feature that makes sure the food stays dry. I had another feeder that didn't have this feature and after a few days it just clogged up. They sell the rena for a reasonable price at petsandponds.

How long are you going on vacation for? If its only a week the fish should be fine without food.

A week?! Wow. Even with the rummies and shrimp in there? Maybe, I should have started this post in "Food & Nutrition"

I've heard from some one that the eheim you mentioned doesn't work well with NLS pellets. He says the pellect jams the spiral feed all the time and the feeder just stops working.
They works well with flakes though.
