The Mysis Shrimp you buy from the big name companies are pond raised in China is not the true good cold water shrimp that is high in quality. I find that few fish will eat it unless they are very hungry. It is only 13.1 % protein. The best Mysis shrimp come from fresh water Arctic lakes. It is 59 % protein and high in omega fatty acids. It is colected and sold by Pristine Energetics. It may not be cheap to buy but it goes a lot farther than other shrimp as it is solid shrimp and no water. Up until now it has only been sold at a few stores. It has just been announced that a Toronto area wholesale is now the local distributor. This means that all pet shops in Ontario will be able to get it. The shipping cost of a store bringing it in made the price prohibitive. It is a bit rich to feed to plecos every day but a couple of times a week really keeps them in good condition.
