Okay now that I have all the snow I could ever want to do some awesome water changes I have a small problem. Every time I put it in a bucket to melt, the condensation on the bucket is CRAZY and it takes days to melt (58 gallon garbage bin). Anyone have any ideas on how to melt it FAST?

coil your garden hose into the bucket, before and during adding the snow, then hook the feed end to your hot water tap. the 'waste' water can still be useful, to help with water changes of other, less demanding species, if you keep such. HTH.

utilize your garden hose as a coil within the snow collected, then run hot water through it. water 'out' can still be used to top up other water changes, if you hesitate to waste it.HTH.

canadapleco: have you tested TDS of your snow yet? or is it assumable to be very low compared to local tap or lake?

It's low... Also very low in the lakes around here, but the snow is easier as the closest lake is 2 km down my road.
