It is a convention in the Cleveland area this weekend for cichlids and catfish................ the dates of the actual convention are November 20th to 22nd. A friend had contacted me and said he would be arriving in Cleveland on the 19th and that is why I accidently used that date.
Anyone going?

Charlie, Janet, Carla, Joe, Ron, Dale, Sally, Jerry, Barb, Larry, Bob and Nicolle. Also the gang from Ajax. We will all see you there. The beer in the hospitality room along with the snacks is almost worth the trip.

The drive down and back was good with only a few showers on the way down. The convention and speakers was as good as usual. It was the first time that I have had the opportunity to hear Eric Bodrock speak and feel that I may have picked up a few tibits of information to try on my Leopard Frogs. There were lots of cories and bushynose plecos. In the more exotic plecos there were not that many. Just L-177, L-091 and one fellow had lots of L-002's from 1-1/2" fry to sub adults for $9.00 each.
There were two people with L-183 white seams $25.00 to $50.00 each a friend of mine bought some of the smaller ones and lost them before he even left for home. Some of these wheeler dealers need to learn about water quality and how to pack fish and how to double bag properly. They seem to be just novices looking for a quick buck. I lost one of the P. taeniatus pair because of bad water quality. They were in a breather bag with an ammonia absorb pad. Next convention I'll take a gallon of old tank water and rebag fish if the water is the slightest bit cloudy.

Thank you very much for your reply, too bad that your friend lost these beautiful L183, he should buy them from you instead.
Care to let us know what Eric Bodrock tips about the Leopard Frogs ?
Thanks again.

Eric finds that his spawn from March to June. His best spawning male likes a cave that tapersdown to a narrow cone shaped end. This is the cave sold by Ken that the male prefers.

Thanks Charlie for telling us about the Ohio extravaganza. Was Barbie, the L184 expert, there? Sent you a PM.

The speakers were excellent and I attended all of them. The focus was on cichlids but there were many people selling from their rooms. I bought some stone catfish from asia and got 12 for $15 total ($1.25 each) I got L52's for $10 each at 4 1/2 inches long. The caves were great and I bought 20 of them for $60. Lots of variety as there were 5 people selling caves. One guy had a unit of 3 different caves selling for $1 each. One Canadian bought 80 of them alone. All the fish I bought made it home safely and were properly bagged. It was a fantastic convention overall. There were about 35 Canadians there that I recognized.

Those Monster tanks in your signature are what I would dream for. Wish one day I could see them in person.
Thanks again.
