I'm reasonably new to plecos but have definitely been bitten by the "pleco bug". I've currently got a L200, a L129, two clowns and a BN. The eye's are always open for more. Does anyone have a good recommendation for pleco hotspots in the west end of Toronto through to Hamilton area? I frequent Big Al's and Dragon Aquarium but am interested in some of the exotics. We don't seem to have nearly the variety of species that are available in Britain. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Well Dragon seems to be about the best I have seen in the Toronto area for sure, Charlie posted the other day that Hamilton BA got in some new stuff as well.

It's generally pretty hard to come by some of the rare ones around here I am finding :( That's why I've been doing drives to Detroit lol. BA miss and dragon do have some neat ones now and then though, so keep your eyes peeled.

You could always get some babies from one of the breeders here on the board too!

Thanks for the greeting. So many plecos, only so much aquarium space! I'll check the boards as I would definitely be interested in supporting local breeders. When you go stateside, are there any special requirements for bringing fish back? I've also thought about online suppliers but I haven't tried it yet.

I have never really had a problem bringing fish back in. I always print out a sheet with the fishes latin name on it and a pic of the fish so if for some reason they want to look it up on the CITIES list it is easy for them, and they wont find them and your through clear sailing :)

I have actually just put an order in with Blue at exoticfinds so I'll elt everyone know how that goes once I pickup the fish.
