I have a question on breeding. I have several different types of plecos together in one tank and I have notices that one of the albino males is guarding some fry in his cave and I don’t know which female was his mate. My question is will albino males only mate with albino’s females and 144's only mate with 144's etc.

they are all the same species...so they will breed with each other.

so if a brown and a albino mate what well you get?

depends on the genes of the brown....you will either get all browns if the parent brown is homogenous brown. if the brown parent is heterogenous brown, then it would be partially of each.

I think you will most likely end up with mostly brown and a few albino carying brown genes. Let us know what the results are.
