Alright I know we all have them, what is that one species of fish you would just LOVE to have? Any species, not pleco specific.

Mine is Metynnis fasciatus, I have NEVER seen them, contacted a bunch of exporters and importers and nobody yet is able to get them. Hopefully someday I will make tons of money and be able to pay for the fishermen to go that extra few hrs upstream to catch them for me.

I like my silver dollars :)

And heres the pic of the beauty.

Thats a nice fish..Especially in a group of 10 or so. For me..i always thought the true Altum angels as nice. And some of the wild discus variants.

Bought 2 of those from Pet's Plus in Lockport New York in 1998. They were only $5.00 each but small at only 1 1/2" long. They were in a tank with mylossoma and silver dollars. Not sure but Charlie Drew and/or his buddy Ed were with me on that trip.

I had them till 2004 when they both passed away.

I sort of forgot about them till I saw this thread and I then checked my fish register and found them in it.

You are right they are a fantastic fish.

here's mine: YouTube - Retroculus sifting sand (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_59EIMO_5ao&feature=related)

i bought 4 of these from Rapps a few years back but lost them all within the week. they've been stuck on my want list ever since, but i have not seen them offered again.

I would like to have a cana (apple sized snail like the big one in my album)
that is bright yellow shell with cream coloured flesh, like we used to be able to get.

i know this is an old thread, but i thought i would add to it anyways. My dream fish would also have to be a Retroculus. But unlike James's R. Xinguensis, mine would have to be R. Lapidifer. To me the Lapidifer is the most beautiful fish on the planet. But since this fish is so rarely available in the hobby a more realistic dream fish for me to actually have would be a nice group of true Altum angels, maybe in a tank with some wild discus, a large school of sterbai cories, and a school of either rummy-nose tetras, or cardinal tetras, i can't decide.lol.. Now that would be my dream tank...

Great videos Chen! Here's a crazy question but one I could never figure out: How do you keep those air discs on the bottom of the tank? Mine always float to the top.
